Diary octorber 20th

Today is Monday, October 20th.

Yesterday, Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers put on an absolutely unbelievable performance. He started as a pitcher and hit a home run in his first at-bat. Then he hit another in his next at-bat — and yet another in his fourth. On top of that, he pitched seven innings and struck out ten batters. It was truly a historic achievement — like something straight out of a comic book.

The opposing team barely managed to score, except for two runs that weren’t off Ohtani. The rest of the time, he completely dominated. It’s amazing — the big leaguers on the other side were left speechless, holding their heads in disbelief.

I put the number 17 on my car when I bought it about four years ago, but I never imagined Ohtani would become such an incredible player.

Changing the subject — it’s raining today, and it’s gotten quite chilly, around 20 degrees Celsius. Tonight, there’s a game between the Nippon-Ham Fighters and the SoftBank Hawks. Apparently, whichever team wins will have a champagne fight instead of the usual beer shower, because Asahi Beer is having shipment issues and can’t supply beer right now.

Come to think of it, I’ve always wondered why Japanese teams never did champagne fights before. I’ve always liked Kimiyasu Kudoh and used to cheer for SoftBank, but this time I kind of want to see what it’s like when Manager Shinjo and the Fighters take the field at Koshien Stadium. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s game.
