Diary Work out is immportant.
Since this month, I’ve started going back to the gym again. My physical condition has been improving recently. My stamina is gradually coming back, and I’ve been able to run and swim again. On Wednesday night I had some drinks with a friend—he’s a few years younger than me, but he says he already wants to quit his job.
I thought about it a lot, but if I didn’t work, I’d probably end up wasting my days doing nothing. So I’ve more or less decided to keep working for another fifteen years. There are implant specialists who are still going strong at 75 or 76, and even Hideki Takahashi—he’s around 83 now, right?—is incredibly energetic. Eikichi Yazawa is already 76 and still unbelievably active.
It reminded me how important exercise really is for me. Working out, going into the sauna, sweating it out… I finally feel like I’m getting back to my true self. Ever since I had back surgery eight years ago, I hadn’t been going to the gym much and couldn’t get back into a good rhythm. But now, I want to use this opportunity to return to a lifestyle where I train properly again.
